With Proper Treatment, Breast Cancer Is Curable

Breast cancer will affect the lives of many women and it is advancing day by day among females. The condition in which abnormal cells development in the breast is known as breast cancer. These abnormal cells increase, segregate and produce new cells that have no function and are of no use to the body. These new cells create a mass called a tumor. Tumors can be benign or malignant. In the beginning, these tumors are small in size, and usually cannot be felt. But in time, they can become a serious threat to life by spreading throughout the breast and sometimes the entire body. Breast cancer can be a threat to the lives of both women and men, but with proper treatment it can be cured.

Breast cancer can be treated with different therapies usually depending on the patient’s situation. A medical doctor or oncologist can assist to determine the most suitable cancer treatment. These treatments can involve one or more therapies to eradicate cancer but still advance the quality of life.

1.    Cancer Surgery: the basis of cancer treatment is to identify and treat cancer. Surgery or operations are performed to repair or remove the affected parts of the breast from your body.

2.    Chemotherapy: an efficient cancer treatment that mostly is used individually or with other treatments.  Chemotherapy abolishes all cancer cells in your body and also helps to control cancer development and spreading.

3.    Radiation Therapy: commonly known as radiotherapy eliminates cancer cells with particle beams like gamma rays or X-rays. The inherited substance that organizes growth and division of cells that advanced the development of cancer cells, is destroyed by these rays.

4.    Hormone Therapy: popularly known as endocrine therapy, changes the hormones of your body that assist in controlling and curing cancer.
